MA British Cultural Studies and English Language Teaching

    This MA, taught jointly with the Centre for English Language Teacher Education (CELTE), is a specialist course aimed at applicants interested in teaching English Language as a foreign or second language.

    Course Outline
    You will take two British Cultural Studies modules in terms one and two, one of which must be a Core Module, two Theoretical Background to ELT modules and either One Professional ELT Module, or two Specialist ELT Options.

    Assessment
    You will complete a diagnostic test of up to 2,000 words. You will also write one essay of between 5,000 and 6,000 words for each BCS module. For ELT modules students will write essays of either 3,000 or 6,000 words depending on module’s credit rating. A dissertation between 15,000 and 20,000 words will be written between May and September.
