Objectives
This top-up route allows you to develop knowledge in a specialist area of your choice and is suitable for those who have not yet secured a training contract or pupillage, as well as those looking to enhance their career prospects.
This 180-credit bearing award is obtained after completing the Research Methods module and with the submission of a dissertation, supported by a supervisor and personal tutor.

You should have successfully completed either the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or Bar Vocational Course (BVC).

Course description
Key points
It may be possible to complete your Master of Laws top-up in as little as 12 months.
You will be required to attend two 1-week sessions, which are scheduled for September and February.
Future prospects
The LLM top-up will enhance the career prospects of those already working in legal practice as well as those who have not yet secured a training contract.
Upon completion of the course you could also consider further study at MPhil/PhD level.
