Course descriptionThis innovative programme combines a study of the key features and developments in employment law with a practical analysis of law, setting law in both a business and international context. The LLM Employment programme has drawn on the considerable experience of staff within the Faculty who work in the fields of employment rights and employment litigation.
The scheme leader, Bryn Lloyd, is a solicitor of lengthy experience in employment law and dispute resolution. The principal contributor to the course, Professor Pat Leighton, has an outstanding record in employment law research and has acted as a consultant to a number of organisations, including the European Commission.

* Applying and Analysing the Legal Rules in Today’s Employing Organisations
* Action/Research in Employment Law
* Health and Safety in Today’s Workplaces
* Dissertation in Employment Law and Practice
The innovative Action/Research module offers the opportunity to undertake a project, conduct research or provide advice for a particular organisation or for your own workplace, and evaluate and reflect on your experience. The course is highly interactive and practical.
How To Study
This course begins with a two-day orientation programme and includes an optional visit to EU institutions and policymaking bodies, combined with a study visit to the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. Passing all the modules achieves a Postgraduate Diploma. Completing a dissertation on an employment law topic achieves the Masters degree. The course is taught on Tuesday evenings, usually from 5pm to 9pm, and is accredited for Law Society CPD points. Assessment is 100% coursework.
