Course description
COURSE INFORMATION
Continuing professional development for education and training practitioners is important for the ongoing improvement of the learning environment for all in the Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) context. This programme gives participants the opportunity to enhance practice and substantive knowledge through the critical understanding and development of theory and practice within their workplace setting. It has been designed to meet both individual and organisational needs for participants who work in a range of PCET settings (e.g. sixth form school, college, training provider, adult and community education, etc) and offers them opportunities to focus on practices in education systems with particular reference to current policies and drivers in relation to their impact on learning and development.
The programme will enhance existing Postgraduate Studies (Education) provision, which currently provides opportunities for the professional development of teachers who seek to engage in Masters level work. This programme is specifically aimed at the Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) sector. However as the research modules are shared across all the education pathways and there are a range of option modules that are appropriate to those who work in a range of education and training settings, the participants who join this programme will share practice and experiences with colleagues from other settings, thus enhancing their own professional development
