This fantastic introductory course is for those with little or no prior knowledge in jewellery making or design experience. Covering a vast array of skills on a module-by-module basis, this course has 13 modules, which build up step-by-step your ability, understanding and skills in jewellery manufacture. This course is a gateway to further learning and development and will provide a solid foundation of skills for you to build upon and further specialise. This course is delivered in 408 hours of guided learning by our expert and friendly team. Usually this takes around four and a half months to complete (on a two day per week basis).
What happens on the course?
Throughout the programme you will be continually assessed and you will cover the following topics:
· Designing jewellery using traditional techniques
· Designing jewellery using Computer Aided Design
· The jewellery industry as a career option, its jobs and possibilities
· Making jewellery by hand
· Enamelling jewellery
· Engraving jewellery
· Setting gemstones
· Finishing jewellery using techniques such as polishing
What do I need to take the course?
Holts Academy operates an open access policy, the level 2 Jewellery Manufacture Diploma is our entry level programme during the application process each applicant is interviewed and accessed on their potential to achieve.
