Course descriptionThrough a flexible programme of study, you will develop skills in interprofessional working. There are two compulsory 15-credit modules in working interprofessionally and preparation for research, and a 30-credit research project. You can create your own modular programme to match your role and career requirements. You have the flexibility to choose four 15-credit modules. These may include a focus on child and adolescent mental health, mental health speciality modules, child protection, workbased learning, managing major incidents, or you may select from our range of level-3 modules.
This programme is open to and designed for students from wide areas of practice both inside and outside the NHS including: support workers, senior healthcare assistants/technicians, practitioners, assistant/associate /specialist practitioners, social care professionals, voluntary sector, public sector, service sector, managers, policy, consumer workers, healthcare professionals, allied healthcare professionals, public health and primary care.
Course content
The programme enables you to better evaluate models of interprofessional working and explore working in interprofessional teams. This is further developed within your chosen specialist modules. Case management skills are explored and developed alongside risk assessment and management. The programme builds on your role and provides an opportunity for learning and development from a wide variety of sectors and networks such as health, social, public and voluntary organisations. You may begin your studies at the start of any term and there are opportunities to ‘step on and off’ to fit with your career, life or study commitments.
