International Tourism Management, PGDip-MA

  • Objectives * To understand the broad political, economic and social frameworks within which international tourism management takes place * To appreciate the complex relationships between visitors and destinations management * To evaluate the tools and techniques that are used for developing and managing tourism in a range of environments * To understand the need for different management approaches for different types of tourism * To discuss the role of the tourism as an agent for cultural change and understanding * To assess the specific characteristics and trends in emerging specialist areas of the tourism industry (e.g. festivals, events, heritage, wellness tourism and other new markets)
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements A good first degree or postgraduate diploma in an appropriate area; or personal/professional experience. Whilst a first degree is desirable, the programme is also designed as a vocational Master's degree, therefore mature students with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply. Where English is the second language, an IELTS score of 6.0 or the University of Greenwich International Pre-Master's Programme
