International Development: Public Policy and Management MA
ObjectivesThe programme is designed to provide: -a comprehensive knowledge of the main concepts and skills required to provide leadership in public policy formulation and implementation within a development framework; -an opportunity to undertake a range of optional subjects to meet the specialist needs relevant to modern public sector and public policy in a changing environment; -an understanding of the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policy in developing countries; -an infrastructure for postgraduate research in the fields of public policy and development, in developing and transitional economies.
Entry requirementsEntry requirements: Applicants should have a good first degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from an approved university. Admission of candidates who do not meet this criterion may be approved if satisfactory evidence of postgraduate study, research or professional experience can be provided.

An overseas field visit is an integral part of the programme. In the past students have visited Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, or Mexico. The cost of the visit is included in the programme fee. In addition, participants may undertake research visits to government and non-government agencies as well as other universities within the UK.
