Welcome to The School of English, Sociology, Politics & Contemporary History (ESPaCH), the School is home to a lively and dynamic group of teachers and researchers who are committed to teaching and research excellence. We offer a wide range of innovative and challenging full and part-time degree courses in the social sciences and humanities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
We provide a suite of single and joint honours degrees in English, Sociology & Criminology, Politics & Contemporary History, as well as a range of joint honours combinations in conjunction with other schools, including media and languages. All staff are committed to innovative teaching techniques and link teaching to their research. The School provides a supportive learning environment which is accessible and responsive to student need and development.
Placement and exchange schemes with universities abroad provide students with exciting and excellent opportunities to study overseas, and help create a cosmopolitan environment within the School.
