Entry requirementsEntry Requirements Students must have a second class honours degree, or better, in Information Technology, Science, Engineering, or a degree subject with a significant Mathematics and Computing content. Students with other degree qualifications, degrees in alternative subject areas, or significant practical experience may be considered for entry on to the Diploma, with the possibility of transfer to MSc through successful performance in the taught component. Overseas qualifications will be treated on an equivalent basis.

Full-time 1 year (MSc), part-time 2 years (MSc), full-time 9 months (Diploma), part-time 21 months(Diploma).
Overview
This course has no lectures and is delivered using interactive learning materials (both printed and online). 'Flexible learning' means that students fit their study around their lives, completing the Masters degree over a period of one to seven years.
While students will work independently, each individual will have access to personal support and interaction with qualified Departmental staff. While self-study is the core component, this will be augmented by key tutorials and lab work at the main campus in Edinburgh or at approved support centres in Cyprus, Hungary, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia or Oman.
