Industry, Trade and Development MSc

  • Objectives -convey a variety of analytic perspectives on contemporary trade policy, industrial development, globalisation and their trajectories; -encourage participants to think critically about issues of industrialisation, trade and industrial policy, global financial institutions and their developmental consequences; -enhance the skills of policy makers and would-be policy makers in policy formulation and the management of the industrialisation process; -provide the intellectual infrastructure and analytical tools for research into industrialisation, trade and related fields in the developing world;
  • Entry requirements Entry requirements: Applicants should have a good first degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from an approved university. Admission of candidates who do not meet this criterion may be approved if satisfactory evidence of postgraduate study, research or professional experience can be provided.

  • Course description Special features

    An overseas field visit is an integral part of the programme. In the past, students have visited Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, or Mexico. The cost of the visit is included in the programme fee. In addition, participants may undertake research visits to government and non-government agencies as well as other universities within the UK.
