IAB Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping Level 2 Course
ObjectivesThe overall aim of this single unit qualification is to accredit candidates' knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles concerned in the use of a computerised accounting system for routine processing tasks. In addition, it accredits some IT skills of candidates and confirms their knowledge concerning the data integrity and security issues surrounding computer systems.
Entry requirementsEntry requirements Students should have started /completed IAB certificate Level 2 manual book-keeping or other book keeping equivalent and have basic computer skills. *subject to amendment.

Course descriptionGeneral information
Within this qualification, candidates have the opportunity to gain knowledge of basic computerised book-keeping routines concerning the documentation and processes related to making and receiving payments. They will gain an insight into both cash and credit business transactions, VAT and other computerised routines.
The qualification required candidates to understand those transactions, which are necessary for the setting up and entering of day-to-day transactions into a computerised accounting system including the processing of business documents and the correction of errors. Accuracy, integrity and security of data should always be uppermost in the candidates mind.

Teaching and assessment
Being a 12 week course, an amount of independent study is required to be successful. Exam - Processing transactions using accounting software - held in January and June.
