  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements:

    Suitable for graduates in business, social sciences, humanities or law.

    Applications will be considered from recent graduates with an Honours degree from an approved university or those with a similar level of qualification gained by other methods. Non-graduates with approved professional qualifications or work experience may also be considered under certain circumstances.

    Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to pass either IELTS/TOEFL exams, obtaining a minimum score of IELTS band 6.5 or 570 in TOEFL (230 for computer-based marking).

  • Course description Course Description:

    The course enables students to develop a sophisticated understanding of the modes of analysis and current debate in human resource management, employment relations and organisational theory. It also provides a critical overview of developments in the management of human resources in the UK and other developed economies. A particular theme that is addressed is internationalisation and the growing significance of multi-national business operating within a global economy. In addition students are provided with knowledge of, and training in, relevant research methods.

    After pursuing a number of taught modules, students must complete a dissertation, the purpose of which is to give students the opportunity to pursue in greater depth a chosen subject or topic in the field of HRM and to play an important part in developing, and expressing students' research and analytical abilities.

    Special Features:

        * Much of the course focuses on the practical implications of HRM theory and research for managers, trade union organisers, consultants and policy makers.
        * Considerable emphasis is placed throughout the course on developing your practical and analytical skills.
        * The advanced nature of the course and the rigorous research training that is given provides a platform for further academic study.
