HND Clothing with Design
Programme
The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the products and processes used in the fashion industry. This knowledge is supported by visiting specialists from the industry, including major high street fashion retailers.
The course offers excellent specialist facilities. These include multiple Lectra CAD/CAM pattern development workstations, a dedicated textile design CAD suite including Illustrator and Photoshop software, fabric production labs, a weave CAD/CAM centre and excellent product performance workshops. The course's strong links with industry have seen students, for example, working on live projects with Next and visiting New Look design studios. Local and national industry support the course with materials, equipment and guest lectures, as well as providing project briefs and support.
First year modules include Fashion Technology, Pattern Technology, Textile Materials and Visual Communication. In the second year students study Pattern and Fashion Technology, Commercial Processes, Textile Finishes and Product Performance.
