Entry requirementsYou will need a minimum of four GCSEs grade A-C BTEC First Diploma at Merit or Distinction level, or complete a satisfactory initial assessment and interview. You will demonstrate your ability to work at level 3. Positive qualities are an interest in health, a willingness to explore new ideas through independent research and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively. A Criminal Record Bureau check will be required.

The course is for those interested in developing a career in Nursing,Midwifery,Health Promotion, Occupation Therapist, Speech Therapist etc. It covers a range of subjects including Public Health, Effective Communication in Health, Equality, Diversity and Rights as well as Anatomy and physiology taking into account the physiological disorders abd also covers working inth Ehealth Sector. Key Skills in Communication, Applicatin of Number and IT are also In addition there will be specific units to enable you to acquire skills for study at university.
How is the course taught
You will participate in a variety of teaching and learning methods which include interactive lecture, seminar presentation, role play, Study Skills workshops.
Assessment
You are assessed through course work, external examination.
Course leads to
On successful completion, you will progress to Higher Education to study the BSc or BSc (Hons) in Midwifery or BSc (Hons) /Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Adult, children or Mental Health). You may have chosen to study the BSc in other Health Allied Professions.
