This course is for anyone interested in working with older people, people who have learning difficulties or disabilities, young people, as well as a variety of other vulnerable groups, in a social care setting. The course introduces various aspects of health and social care including: working in health and social care, looking after children, personal effectiveness, and exploring local services, communication and numeracy.

You are assessed through a mixture of lectures, group activities, discussions and practical activities.

You are assessed through a mixture of assignments and portfolio tasks, with a multiple choice test.
Course leads to
Students completing the course with a merit or distinction can apply for the BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will also have access to a range of careers and further education opportunities such as the Apprenticeships in health and social care.
