Course content
Two routes are provided to allow for the diverse requirements of health and health care professionals.
The Management route complements the NHS qualification, Strategic Management of Information Management and Technology (Health), and will develop both skills and knowledge in systems development, procurement and management, the use of databases, and the relationship between the IS/IT function in an organisation and the wider business objectives. There is a potential to gain a dual MSc/IM&T award if suitable options are selected.
The Technology route is more flexible with an open structure ranging over subjects in both systems and modern computer technology to allow individuals to select subjects that are of relevance to their continuing personal and professional development.
Staff with specific expertise and experience in the health sector will be responsible for delivery of specialist health informatics subjects on this programme.
