    The Postgraduate Framework has been set up to be flexible to suit the specific needs of the individual student. Programmes can be taken on a full- or part-time basis and can be tailored to meet your personal requirements.

    Why study Health and Social Care: Research Methods?

    The MSc Health and Social Care: Research Methods programme has the principal aim of developing students' research capacity within health and social care, through developing the knowledge and skills of critical, reflexive research practitioners.

    Programme specific aims are to enable students to:

        * Manage and locate relevant information and critically evaluate research methodologies and outputs in health and social care.
        * Critically explore the political, ethical and professional contexts of enquiry.
        * Critically explore the process of research design from levels of philosophy, methodology and method.
        * Develop skills in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative methods.

    COURSEWORK AND ASSESSMENT
    A range of learning and teaching approaches are used throughout the programme, encompassing both classroom-based lectures and seminars. Computer laboratories are utilised in relation to developing skills in data analysis. The individual research component is assessed by a dissertation report. A range of methods is employed in assessing other taught components of the programme.
