Course descriptionCOURSE INFORMATION
The Postgraduate Framework has been set up to be flexible to suit the specific needs of the individual student. Programmes can be taken on a full- or part-time basis and can be tailored to meet your personal requirements.
Programmes within the Framework can be studied to Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, Masters level or even individual modules can be selected for a shorter period of study that could enhance personal and professional development.
Why study Health and Social Care/Social Care?
The generic pathway for an award of MSc Health and Social Care does not stipulate route specific modules. Modules are selected from the Health and Social Care Postgraduate Framework portfolio.
Students can select from the diverse portfolio of modules within the School and tailor their programme to their own needs. Specific modules from other Schools and even other Higher Education Institutions may be included, subject to formal agreement by the framework management committee. Modules offered in this way must contribute directly or indirectly to the themes of Health or Social Care.
Students who have undertaken Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma level study may access the Masters level programme with advanced standing.

COURSEWORK AND ASSESSMENT
A range of learning and teaching approaches are used throughout the programme, encompassing both classroom-based lectures and seminars. Computer laboratories are utilised in relation to developing skills in data analysis. The individual research component is assessed by a dissertation report. A range of methods is employed in assessing other taught components of the programme.
