ObjectivesCombining an exploration of computing, mathematics, statistics and operational research, this course aims to develop your competence in quantitative investigations using IT. The course will give you the essential skills you need to work successfully in a variety of sectors and keep ahead in a field that is changing rapidly. In addition, you also develop the skills and confidence needed for further study. The course will also provide you with a range of interpersonal and transferable skills that are highly valued by employers.
Entry requirementsYou are normally expected to have GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent), plus one of the following: - at least 60 points from one A2/A-level in an Applied subject such as Mathematics, Science or Engineering - at least 80 points from two A-levels including Science or Engineering - a pass in BTEC National Diploma in Science or Engineering. Entry from appropriate Foundation/ Access courses is also considered
You study eight modules each year, including programming, spreadsheets and data analysis using statistical software.
