The Graduate Diploma is open to applicants of graduate or equivalent status in areas unrelated to Theology & Religious Studies. It offers a means of obtaining a measure of competence in the field of Theology & Religious Studies without commitment to a full degree programme.
For some candidates it may be used as a qualifying course to enable study at MA level. The structure of the Graduate Diploma is deliberately flexible allowing you to either specialise in one particular area of study or take a broader approach to different areas of the subject. You will take modules from the list prescribed for the BA in Theology; the BA in Religious Studies; and the BA in Religion, Philosophy & Ethics and complete a dissertation of not more than 8000 words.
Programme format and assessment
Part-time attendance: one-two days per week. Taught modules are assessed by coursework and/or examination, plus a 8,000 word dissertation.
Duration
One year FT, two years PT, September to September.
