What does it include?
The course has been developed as a result of a partnership between City of Westminster College and University of Westminster.
The vocational emphasis of the Foundation Degree in Music Technology is intended to offer learners a combination of technical skills, academic knowledge and transferable skills in sound engineering, as demanded by the music, live sound, recording, broadcast, creative media, post production and related industries. The course is approximately 50% practical and 50% theory, with a high proportion of coursework and project material.
Where does it lead?
The Foundation Degree is an established form of National Qualification and is equivalent to the Level 1 & 2 (year 1 & 2) of a BA (Hons) or BSc Degree.
At the end of the course, successful students will be awarded the qualification of the Foundation Degree in Music Technology and may choose to progress into employment or undertake a third year at the University of Westminster to complete a BA (Hons) Degree in commercial music.
