Entry requirements Entry requirements The housing courses are aimed primarily at students with current or recent work experience in housing, regneration and/or community development. However, we would also consider applicants with other work experience and qualifications. All applicants are invited for an interview and informal discussion about the courses.

Course description FdSc Housing Studies

Programme

The Foundation Degree in Housing, Communities and Regeneration links together housing, urban and rural regeneration and community involvement. There is also a strong regional focus, including the Milton Keynes and South Midlands growth area and regeneration initiatives in the East Midlands.

In the first year, the focus is on skills and knowledge in housing construction and development, regeneration, housing policy making and community involvement. In the second year, housing management and finance and area regeneration are considered in more detail, plus skills in ICT, report writing and numeracy are developed. The final year focuses on the development of specific skills and expertise such as housing and the customer and housing law.

Students who progress to the BSc Housing Studies programme, one day per week, will undertake studies which incorporate the CIH's professional practise requirements, in addition to housing, planning and regeneration.
