FdA Early Years

  • Objectives This course has been created in response to government initiatives to create a new career pathway for early years practitioners. The core content relates specifically to practice in early years settings but will equip you with technical and transferable skills that employers increasingly demand.
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements You should have a relevant NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification and GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English. Other professional qualifications and experience will be considered. Criminal Records Bureau and health checks will be carried out during the interview process.

  • Course description Course Structure

    You will study six modules each year. The modules place an emphasis on work-based practice. Module content provides you with the underpinning knowledge in a range of essential early year´s subjects. These will include child development, child protection and early year´s curricula. You also develop your skills as a reflective practitioner and have the opportunity to improve your academic ability.
