FdA Design (Silversmithing, Jewellery, Allied Crafts)

  • Objectives This vocational course aims to help you develop a range of high quality skills directly related to a career in silversmithing, jewellery and industry relevant crafts. It allows you to specialise in an area of particular interest and has a wide range of specialist craft skills options, some of which are unique to London Metropolitan University. The majority of the teaching staff are practising designer makers this ensures the course remains relevant and current.
  • Entry requirements You will need GCSE grade C in English Language, key skills qualification level 3 or similar. You must also have one of the following: - Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education at 80 points (one A-level) - GNVQ at advanced level - BTEC National Diploma or Certificate - Art and Design Foundation course - Recognised Access course -Any other qualification of an equivalent standard. You will also be expected to attend an interview with a portfolio of creative work.
