ObjectivesThe Executive MBA programme is designed to enable managers to make a strategic contribution to their organisation across a range of business functions in a fast moving environment. Managers will be able to critically reflect on their own development, evaluate research methods for business challenges and analyse information when making strategic business choices.
Entry requirementsThe Executive MBA programme is suitable for experienced managers who are ready to make a strategic contribution but who do not have a formal, or recent, business education. Around two thirds of students are graduates, normally from a technical discipline, for example engineering. Around a third are not graduates but may have some professional qualification. The programme is not suitable for those without management experience, for whom our other MBA programme is appropriate.

Course descriptionStructure of the Executive MBA
The Executive MBA consists of 8 taught modules (each worth 15 credits) and a 60 credit individual research dissertation. Normally, part-time students study two modules in each semester, whilst full-time students study 4 modules in each semester. However, varying rates of study can be arranged.
Semesters are 15 week blocks and there will be a 3-hour class for each module per week. Students obtaining 60 credits will be eligible for a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma with 120 credits. The final stage is a dissertation and you may not formally commence this until you have completed the entire taught stage. On successful completion of the dissertation an MBA will be awarded.
