ObjectivesThis course aims to prepare students for developing their careers in the areas of Engineering and Business Management. The course introduces students to all the key aspects of managing an engineering based company, and to the required fields of general management necessary for a complete portfolio of management skills and knowledge. The educational experience enables the participants to achieve an integrated understanding of strategic and operations management and to develop appropriate intellectual and personal skills. Postgraduate engineering courses have also been developed jointly between MS Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, India and Coventry University. The curriculum has been developed as per Coventry University rules and regulations and complies with QAA standards. Coventry University confers the MSc Engineering Business Management degree to successful candidates. MSRSAS also conducts PhD degrees with Coventry University. The research programme is in the areas of mechanical, electronics and engineering related management. The course aims of the MSc in Engineering Business Management are: * To provide a framework within which students can develop an analytical understanding of both the functional nature of management and the holistic nature of business. * To encourage students to demonstrate their capacity to enact the principles of change management and become effective change agents in organisations. * To provide students with the opportunities to develop a range of skills and the ability to apply a variety of management tools and techniques. * To stimulate a pro-active approach to managing engineering and business issues which demonstrates an understanding of the impact of the changing environment and the context within managers and organisations operate.
Entry requirementsYou will normally be expected to have an honours degree but entry qualifications are flexible and applications are welcomed from for mature candidates and those with industrial experience. We are always willing to talk to you about your experience and to look at how that may be credited against the academic requirements of certain programmes.

Teaching and Learning Resources
Courses are taught in our excellent Graduate and CPD centre, which provides first rate classroom and social facilities particularly designed for the needs of both full-time students and part-time students who may be coming to study after work.
Classes are taught by academics with a long track record of working with industry and who bring in leading industry experts wherever that is possible. The University Library is only a short walk from the Graduate and CPD centre and is therefore very easy to access either before or after class and at weekends.
Course content
This course has been designed with the needs of full-time students and industrial part-time delegates in mind, indeed we talked with our partners when we developed the material. Each course consists of 8 taught modules, study skills, research methods and a project. The modules are studied in a block mode, one module at a time. This means that you focus on one subject and complete it before moving on to the next.
Attendance is full time with 35 hours (MSc) contact time per module. The daytime modules are delivered to a mixture of full-time and part-time delgates, which gives great opportunity to share experiences and network across different cultures and industries.
Full-time day attendance: 2 week delivery with a total of ten 1/2 day lecture sessions per module
You will normally study for one year. However, depending on your date of entry to the course, this can be extended to up to one and a half years in order for you to complete the programme of 8 taught modules and the individual project.
A study skills and research methods module is taught throughout the programme.
