Course descriptionThe programme comprises a core of studies taken by all students. These studies are concerned with the education of deaf children (covering educational provision and teaching methods); theoretical and practical aspects of audiology and language and communication (involving linguistics, language development and acquisition of spoken and signed language by deaf children).
During the two year programme there are two 4-week blocks of assessed teaching plus visits to observe the variety of educational provisions for deaf children.
Teaching methods
Campus taught modules take place between 10am and 4pm on one day a week over two years. Additionally a four-week block of assesed teaching in a provision for deaf pupils is undertaken in the Spring term of each year.
