Shooting Video, Recordin Sound and Editing using your DSLR.
This course has been designed and developed for those looking to start using the video recording feature on their Digital SLR Camera.
You will be introduced to the many operations involved to producing professional-standard video capture effectively, including sound recording techniques and an introduction to basic editing skills.
Through a series of practical demonstrations you will explore how to set your cameras White Balance and Metering, understanding the relevance of Histograms, Frame Rates and Formats.
Students will work as a film crew, gaining experience and understanding the purpose of Clapper Slate timing, Double System Audio methods with on-camera microphone and separate audio recorder, Time-lapse animation techniques, and Fixed Camera usage including Run-n-Gun shooting.
Working in teams you will shoot a simple two-camera interview with lights, external recorder and metering, and capturing A roll and B roll.
You will then be introduced to non-linear film editing workflow using Final Cut Pro X or iMovie, where you will explore a basic edit of the footage for final output to a client.
