Diploma Qigong Tuina
-
Objectives
This course in traditional Chinese massage is open to practitioners who already have a therapeutic assessment framework and who wish to include assessing and treating their patients through the Chinese medical model in their clinical repertoire. It will also add another therapeutic dimension for acupuncture practitioners. The course combines extensive hands-on training, in practical classes and in the clinical setting, with a thorough working knowledge of the theories and underlying concepts of Chinese medicine. Tuina, an ancient and versatile style of massage, is still extensively used in China to treat a wide range of conditions, both internal and musculoskeletal. It is traditionally studied with acupuncture and is often used in combination with, or instead of, needles. When combined with qigong (the study of qi or vital energy) these techniques give a deep and effective means of understanding and treating illness on many levels.
