Course descriptionGeneral information
Students will have the opportunity to work on creative projects, using a variety of multimedia software, creating high quality digital content for websites, e-books and simulations as well as graphic images and artwork.
This course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs A*– C.
Course content
Using ICT - this compulsory unit provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to design and produce publications for print and screen.
Graphics - this unit provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to design and produce effective graphic products that communicate successfully on screen and in print.
The Active Web* - this unit provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to design and produce an effective website.
Games Authoring* - this unit provides you with the knowledge and skills you need in Games Authoring.

Teaching and assessment
You will learn through investigation and active involvement. The course is learner centred which means that you will have a big responsibility for your own learning; however, the tutor will actively support you, offering advice and guidance on how to approach and develop your assignments.
There are no formal written examinations as all work will be assessed online. With DiDA you achieve your marks by successfully completing project briefs.
Progression
Students who achieve a merit or above may choose to progress to the National Diploma, GCE - ‘AS’ and ‘A2’ Level or other further education courses at Level 2 such as:
* BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners
* BTEC National Diploma for IT Users
* BTEC National Diploma E-media (proposed for 2009)
