  • Entry requirements You must: -Be over the age of 18 -Have an Advanced GNVQ or AVCE in Business -Have a BTEC National Certificate of Diploma in Business -Have an Advanced GNVQ or AVCE of another title (e.g. Leisure in Tourism) -Have at least one GCE A Level pass with appropriate supporting GCSE at Grades A, B, or C If you are over 21 years old, appropriate work experience, good verbal communication, numeracy and basic IT skills.
  • Course description Duration of course:
    2 Years – evening (Tuesday and Thursday 6 – 9pm).
    Course commences February or September.

    What does it include?
    You will complete ten modules at two levels over a two-year period.
    Level 1 Modules include:
    -Accounting
    -Human Resource Management
    -Organisation in its Environment
    -Business Decision Making
    -Business Communication

    Level 2 Modules include:
    -Marketing
    -International Business
    -Legal and Regulatory Framework
    -Research Project
    -Organisations and Behaviour

    Where does it lead?

    The HNC is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification throughout the business industry. It provides a basic grounding in the core areas of business and management and leads to an enhanced career as well as promotion prospects.

    The University of Westminster grants admission to the holders of this qualification onto the BA Business Administration (BA (HONS)). Holders of the HNC will be considered for admission onto the University’s Post-Graduate Diploma (DMS) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA). The HNC gives automatic subject exemption from many professional qualifications.
