Course description
This course is for beginners and returners. Students will learn how to use tools and equipment. They will work on their chosen project, given one to one teaching and group demos and discussions. They will leave the course feeling confident to use basic upholstery tools and equipment, independently.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Use the tools confidently and safely
- Have knowledge of traditional and modern upholstery techniques
- Share knowledge with your peers through regular group discussions
- Beginners will have been advised on a suitable project e.g. a stool or dining chair to work on
Returning students will be encouraged to work on more challenging projects
Course Structure:
Students will work at their own pace on their own projects there will be one to one to one teaching, constant guidance and group teaching covering various subjects. Maximum 14 in the class
Course resources:
Students will have access to a workshop and table space. All tools and materials are supplied at an economic rate. Limited locked storage is available.
Assessment:
Photos of completed work, displays, Self Assessment with Individual Learning Plans
Next step:
Students to progress to more complicated projects.
