Entry requirementsThis course is for students 19 years old and over. You will need an AS/A2 level in Photography or similar qualification. Candidates will be asked to show a portfolio of photographic and related work, proving experience in the field.

Course description This course will teach you about traditional film and digital photography, it will also allow you to study dark room, studio and location techniques, and introduce you tot the use of photography in advertising and fashion.
Course Structure:
The course is structured in to blocks of six weeks. Each block contains a variety of activities both practical and academic that centre around a core theme or topic. Students will carry out tasks that help develop their skills and promote their own responses and ideas. As well as a variety of practical exercises, regular lectures, visits, seminars and a possible European field trip will underpin lessons. Each block is intended to develop on from the previous, developing your skills, independence and confidence.
The end of the year culminates in an exhibition of student work.
Course resources:
The Art & Design section is well resourced with specialist workshops and studios, including printmaking, photography, jewellery, stained glass and there is an Applemac computer suite with digital facilities.
Assessment:
All work on the course is continually monitored and students are prepared for assessment at the end of each six-week block.

Progression on to a Degree or HND or in to work related areas.
