Course descriptionWhat is this course about?
Mathematics is about pattern and structure; it is about logical analysis, deduction and calculation within these patterns and structures. People like its challenge, its clarity, and the fact that you know when you are right. You will find all these aspects at A Level.
In addition, to study this subject, you must achieve at least a grade B or above in Higher Level GCSE Maths. All students who wish to study AS Maths will have to take and pass an initial test in July during their Induction Day. Cp>Our AS/A level Maths courses are modular. Three modules are needed for an AS-level and six modules for an A-level. Each module is assessed by a written exam:

# Core Maths modules include topics such as algebra, calculus and trigonometry. All students study two Core Maths modules.
# Statistics modules include topics such as probability, samples and sampling, hypothesis testing and correlation.
You take two Core modules and one applied module (Mechanics or Statistics) in one year to gain an AS qualification.

Close to 80% of our A-level students progress to Higher Education. Alternatively, you could choose to enter employment.
