Course descriptionThis one year course offers a flexible and comprehensive range of modules. Students select a personalised course that can meet a variety of outcomes. Modules are available at different levels and subject areas include Anatomy Physiology, Health & Fitness, Sports Injuries, First Aid, Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Diet and Nutrition, Coaching Skills and Sociology. These are applied to sport and exercise through classroom study, discussion and practical workshops. Acceptance on all courses is by interview only. You will need to demonstrate an interest and enthusiasm for the subject, along with a good level of both written and spoken English. Help and assistance can be given to students who have difficulty with language, numeric and IT skills. Successful completion of the course can lead directly into employment in the community, Higher Education or other vocational awards.
