  • Course description General information

    This course is intended to provide students with the basic skills and knowledge to enable them to work as an operative in the construction industry.  Students will learn through a variety of methods including classroom lectures, written assignments and practical tasks.

    Course content


    To achieve this award students must complete 6 units of competence which include:

        *  Handle and store resources
        *  Contribute to work relationships
        *  Contribute to providing platforms
        *  Prepare bricklaying materials for use
        *  Prepare components
        *  Use components and materials

    Teaching and assessment

    Through observation of practical tasks in the workshop and a short written test at the end of each unit.  External test from the City & Guilds throughout the year.
