Course - Learning for Work (Severe Learning Disabilities)

What does it include?
A practical introduction to work skills for students with a severe or moderate learning disability. Students work in a mini-enterprise project, making and selling lunches to staff and students, and are involved in all aspects of the business. They also do work experience at the college.
Learning travel skills is an important part of the course. All students are expected to learn to travel independently by the end of the year. They also have Work Skills, Tutorial, IT and two optional sessions.
What do I need to get onto it?
Students should have started to learn to cross roads by themselves and have an interest in cooking.
Where does it lead?
A pre-vocational course (such as Skills for Work), community work projects, voluntary work, or in some cases, paid employment.
