  • Entry requirements Who is this course for? Students aged 16+ who would like to consider training as an apprentice in the I.T industry and enjoy working in an office environment. What do I need to get on the course? Age 16-19 You will have completed the Access to Apprenticeship program and have found employment Or Level 2 - You need 4GCSE`s at grade D and a reference from your employer.Level 3 - you need 4 GCSE s at A*- D, including English at grade C and a reference from your employer 19 years and over You will have completed the Access to Apprenticeship program and have found employment. If already employed You will be offered an interview to assess your suitability for the programme and at what level, you will also need a reference from your employer.

  • Course description What is this course about?
    An Apprenticeship is a training programme that allows you to earn whilst you learn. You will be assessed for a qualification whilst you work. Therefore, it is expected that will already be in employment and have permission from your employer to attend college for one day per week. You will study a vocational qualification relevant to your job role, as well as key skills in communication and Application of numbers. You will also work towards a technical certificate, looking at the underpinning knowledge you need to do your job. IT users focuses on working the Information technology industry. You will cover topics such as producing documents and spreadsheets; maintain databases, health and safety and effective working

    What will I study?
    You will study a competence based qualification that relates to your job role. This will be assessed in your work place by a College assessor. In College you will study a separate qualification that teaches you additional skills and knowledge to be successful at your chosen career. You will study key skills in numeracy and Communication. You must pass all the elements of the apprenticeship to achieve the full apprenticeship qualification.

    What can I do after the course?
    If you have achieved at Level 2, you can progress onto a level 3 Apprenticeship and then Higher Education to complete a Foundation degree or go into full time employment.

    How do I get on the course?
    Discuss with your employer the Apprenticeship programme that you are interested in, and then complete an application form.

    You will then be invited in for an interview to assess your suitability for the course and the appropriate level.

    Courses run throughout the year and start dates will be agreed with yourself and your employer.
