There is no upper age limit. • A good general education is essential for this demanding course • An excellent level of English is required. You must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently. You may be asked to sit an entry test.

Course descriptionDesigned for those who wish to learn the full range of treatments within the beauty therapy industry and offer a wider skill-base from which to work.
The course consists of five modules as follows:
ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY - 2 WEEKS
Covering all the major systems of the human body: Skeletal, Muscular, Digestive, Urinary, Endocrine, Lymphatic, Nervous, Cardiovascular and Respiratory. You will be set a written paper after a lenghtened home study period.
SWEDISH BODY MASSAGE - 3 WEEKS
After studying human anatomy and physiology, the classic deep-tissue Swedish body massage movements will be taught. Working in pairs, you will both give and receive massage to fully appreciate the effects of the different techniques. You will mostly use oil, but will also be shown the traditional massage medium of talc. This module also includes training in Indian Head Massage leading to an additional IIHHT Diploma.
AROMATHERAPY - 3 WEEKS
A full, in-depth Aromatherapy study with a specific massage routine. You will learn about the sourcing, extraction, distillation, properties and benefits of essential oils, and how to blend them to meet your clients' needs. This module requires 30 hours of teatments to be performed in the student salon and case studies to be performed at home.
ELECTRO-THERAPIES - 4 WEEKS
Electrical and mechanical treatments for the face and body including: G5; Slendertone; vacuum suction; non-surgical lifts; mechanical lymph drainage; audio-sonic tratments; galvanic and faradic face and body treatments.
EPILATION/ELECTROLOGY - 2 WEEKS
You will learn how to provide permanent hair removal (electrical epilation) to all areas of the face and body using the Short-Wave Diathermy and the 'blend' methods.
You will also learn the contra-indications to all treatments, client counselling / consultation techniques, salon reception skills and management duties. There is no 'final exam' for this course. Instead, you will be assessed for both practical skills and theory knowledge on an on-going basis for each module.
