  • Course description This course is designed to provide you with an understanding of healthy eating. Whether it is for your own personal reason, to get fit and start eating healthily, or to build up on your existing skills and qualifications this could be the course for you.

    It will provide details on vitamins and minerals, vegetarians, cardiovascular system and much more.

    Student Profile:

    This programme is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of healthy eating.

    Study method:

    The course is design for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments and study guide plus full tutor support for a year.

    Assessment:

    Assessment takes the form of a series of tutor marked assignments which you can submit to the college for marking.

    Timescale:

    The programme takes place over a timescale to suit the student. Once registered tutor support is available for up to one year to until completion whichever is soonest. To complete this course it will take in the region of 90 study hours.

    Location:

    The programme is home or work-based enabling students to complete the course without having to attend scheduled college teaching sessions.

    Tutor support:

    Throughout the course, students will receive tutor support by telephone and post by post for 12 months.

        * Cancer
        * Iron deficiency

    Module 4: Food Hygiene:

        * Legislation
        * What is food hygiene?
        * Food consumption
        * Food poisoning
        * How bacterial multiply
        * Preventing food poisoning
        * Personal hygiene
        * Safe food preparation
        * Cleaning and disinfection
        * Food storage
        * Waste disposal and pest control
        * Building and equipment
