  • Entry requirements What do I need to get on to it: - Employment in a UK hospital in a Department of Audiology (as a trainee Associate Practitioner or higher) or - Employment in the private Hearing Aid Provider sector and - Numeracy and English language (written and spoken) equivalent to GCSE Grade C (British Council IELTS – Band 6.0) and - 1 A-level in Science (which can be Maths) or - BTEC National Certificate in Science or - Advanced GNVQ or AVCE Science or - NVQ Level 3 Healthcare or - Equivalent The above will gain you automatic entry to the programme. The first two requirements are non-negotiable. Other academic qualifications offered as equivalence will be considered on an individual basis.   • Course description City of Westminster College is an Associate College of Middlesex University. We are the largest UK provider of training and education in the field of Clinical Physiology, with an intake of around 100 students per year. We have over 30 years experience in delivering high quality programmes in this professional area, and are justly proud of our National and International reputation in this regard. We have enhanced our curriculum offer with a Foundation Degree in Audiology, this started in September 2007.

    The programme has been designed in close association with the Charing Cross School of Audiology, London – who deliver the Audiology components, for students working as Associate Practitioner in Audiology.

    The programme design also includes a one-year option to enter at Year 0, for those potential students working as Assistant Practitioners who may not possess the certificated qualifications in the admissions criteria, with an optional ‘step-off’ award of Foundation Year in Audiology.

    Duration of the programme: Two or three years part-time (depending on offered qualifications). The programme is offered as part-time block-release format.

    Attendance: College attendance is nine weeks (Year 0 is eleven weeks) and two days (for examinations) per academic year. In each week the timetable runs from 1300hrs – 1930hrs Monday, 0900hrs – 1730hrs Tuesday to Thursday, and 0900hrs - 1500hrs Friday. Expectation is 100% attendance on every module.

    What does it include: The programme covers three main areas of study:
    - common modules
    - discipline specific theory modules in Audiology
    - discipline specific workbased assessed modules

    Where is it based: The programme is based at the Cosway Street Campus of the College, Cosway Street, London NW1 6TH - except the Audiology modules, which are delivered at Charing Cross Hospital. All examinations are taken at the College.
