Course descriptionWhat is this course about?
The aim of the course is to enable students to work with increasing independence, producing their own responses to themes, topics through drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media work. Take a look at a gallery of coursework produced by students on this course.
What will I study?
An imaginative and creative response has produced some very exciting work in AS/A2 Art this last year. Understanding how other artists have tackled a similar subject allows you to develop stronger responses yourself. Knowledge of how colour works makes your painting more powerful. Some students elect to produce a 3D/sculptural response and some outstanding work has been produced.
What qualification will I get? AS Art & Design, Fine Art after the first year of study, A-level after the second year.
What can I do after the course?
After the A2 course you can go to Art college or university or study a vocational course e.g. Higher National Diplomas. Close to 80% of our A-level students progress to Higher Education. Alternatively, you could choose to enter employment.
