  • Course description What is Entry to Employment (E2E)?
    Entry 2 Employment (E2E) was launched in 2003, it is a training programme targeted at 16-18 year olds who are not currently involved in employment, education or training. It aims to help learners gain skills in order to enter Apprenticeships, Employment or to go on to Further Education or training. You will be entitled to EMA (Educational Maintenance Allowance) as well as contribution towards your travel.
     
    Duration of course:
    Initially up to 22 weeks.
    There is the opportunity to progress onto the BTEC Introductory Certificate in Construction immediately after 22 weeks.
     
    What does it include?
    This includes:
    o        Literacy and Numeracy at level 1 and or 2
    o        Tasters in Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Painting and Decorating and Carpentry
    Employability skills and Personal development are an integral part of this programme. You will learn to prepare yourself to start working in the Construction Industry.
     
    What do I need to get on to it?
    You are not required to have any formal qualifications.
    You will need to complete an initial assessment in Literacy and Numeracy and a short interview to assess your suitability for the course.
    You need to have an interest in building and construction is important, with a positive attitude and high level of motivation.
     
    Where does it lead?
    This programme will lead you to the BTEC Introductory Certificate in Construction Level 1.
    You may progress further to do a BTEC Introductory Diploma in Construction Level 1.
