AS in Year 1, leading to A2 in Year 2.
Mode: Full-time
What does it include?
AS Level:
Unit 1: Markets and Market Failure
Unit 2: The National and International Economy
A2 Level:
Unit 3: Business Economics and the Distribution of Income
Unit 4: The National and International Economy
Each module in the AS level is examined at the end of the course; structured essays, case studies and data response questions are amongst the different means of testing. The assessment objectives common to AS and A2 level include knowledge, application, analysis and evaluation of both microeconomic and macroeconomic theories and concepts to the performance of the UK economy and other real world contexts.
What do I need to get on to it?
You must have minimum GCSE grade B in Maths and C in English. Economics is a very challenging ‘A’ level requiring detailed analysis, the ability to think independently and produce regular detailed written material
