Entry requirementsEnthusiasm and a serious interest in the technical aspects of theatre and entertainments. You will be interviewed and undertake a short test. A basic knowledge of sound and lighting terminology will be an advantage.
Course descriptionDuration of course:
1 Year
Full time - 2-3 days per week.
NB: Daytime programmes of study are available on a full-time basis, or part-time for those in receipt of DSS benefits and needing to satisfy the conditions of availability for work.
What does it include?
This course offers a unique opportunity to learn the fundamental skills and perspectives required to become a competent sound and lighting technician for a range of entertainment industries. The course will introduce students to the protocols, technical knowledge and skills required to work in Theatres, Clubs, Exhibitions & Conferences, indeed to supply light and sound for any live performance event or venue culminating in a City & Guilds Part 1 certificate in Theatre Electrics plus the City & Guilds Part 1 certificate in Sound Engineering.
