Entry requirementsWho is this course for? Young people aged 16-18. What do I need to get on the course? You must satisfy the general entry criteria for A-level courses which are based on your GCSE results general entry requirements for AS-levels In addition, to do this course you must achieve at least a grade C in both GCSE English Language and Maths and at least one other written subject (e.g. humanities, business studies, history, geography, religious education full course, English Literature). Your grade in either English or the other written subject should preferably be a B. There is a substantial mathematical element, and a B in Maths is also preferred.

Course descriptionWhat is this course about?
You will develop your conceptual understanding of the business world, and business decision-making. In Unit One you study how to start a business and planning the finances of the business. In Unit Two you will study: people in businesses; the organisation of business operations; the use of marketing to compete effectively; and further aspects of finance.
What will I study?
This course teaches you how to consider the issue, or problems, arising in a particular business from a variety of different perspectives. The different aspects of business activity you will study are:

# , How firms organise the production of goods and services
# , How businesses engage in financial planning and decision-making

You will be assessed by exam at the end of the year, but there is no coursework.
, What can I do after the course?
From the AS-Level course you can go on to A2-Level study and prepare for university entrance. The course is very suitable for learners who wish to study business, or a business-related subject at university and prepares you for a career in some aspect of business.
