Course descriptionGeneral information
This National Diploma in Sport follows the Sport and Exercise Sciences pathway and incorporates a sports injury rehabilitation programme. The course is highly practical, as well as providing an in depth theoretical underpinning. Potential students must demonstrate self motivation, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to improve their academic and practical skills.
Course content
Students will study 18 Units over a 2-year period. These include:
* Rehabilitation of Sports Injuries
* Assessment of Sports Injuries
* Sport and Exercise Massage
* Analysis of Sports Performance
* Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology
* Sports Biomechanics in Action
Teaching and assessment
Students will be assessed using a variety of assessment methods including completion of assignments, practical laboratory assessments and observation of practical skills. Students will experience a variety of teaching and learning strategies
Progression
This course is equivalent to 3 A levels (3 x A2s) which means you can progress to Higher Education in areas of Sports Rehabilitation and Therapy or Sports Sciences, or look to move straight into employment in a wide variety of professions.+
