Course descriptionWhat is this course about?
This course will help you to develop as a dancer, choreographer and general performer. You have the opportunity to work with a range of professional choreographers/companies.
What will I study?
# You will study different aspects of dance such, including: Contemporary dance
# Ballet
# Jazz dance
# Choreography
# Physical theatre
# Movement
# Performing arts in context
# The performing arts business.
The course also includes a theoretical look at the history of dance and the performing arts industry.
Dance performance is a major part of the course, with the chance to perform in the College theatre and venues such as The Lilian Baylis and Union Chapel.
You will also get the opportunity to work and perform with Connecting Vibes, a company run in collaboration with IRIE! dance theatre.
The course includes work experience for all students, often with outstanding professional companies, such as the Kosh.
What can I do after the course?
We offer a new Foundation Degree in Dance, that focuses on African and Caribbean dance, ballet and contemporary. You can also go on to study at places like Laban Centre, London Studio Centre, Middlesex, Roehampton, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and LIPA.
