    This new course offers an exciting opportunity for learners to explore a range of disciplines and contextualise their Fine Art practice in a structured and supportive environment. You learn to you refine and modify your skills in visual understanding, communication and expressing creative ideas. Through diverse projects and group & individual tutorials, learners will improve and develop their individual creative pathway. In developing your Fine Art focus, you will also have the opportunity to experiment with sculpture and printmaking. This is a diverse, stimulating and challenging course that aims to prepare you to progress as the breadth of your visual knowledge increases and your specialist practice is refined.

    What does the course lead to?

    Most students progress to higher level courses, such as the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, other level four courses or vocational practice.

The course consists of 12 assessed units that are structured to help you learn as you refine and modify your skills in visual understanding, communication and expressing creative ideas. Through diverse projects and group & individual tutorials, learners will improve and develop their individual creative pathway.

    In developing your Fine Art focus, you will also have the opportunity to experiment with sculpture and printmaking.

    How much should I study outside class?


    You will be required to carry out a few hours a week to gather some research work and/or materials for practical projects as and when required. There is homework during the holidays.

    What books and equipment do I need?

    You will need to buy your own equipment and materials, such as sketchbooks, brushes and paper. The college has a limited stock of paper and paint that you can buy. Easels, drawing boards, plan chests and lockers are provided.+
